Have you been wanting to test the United States Postal Service Informed Delivery promotion? Now is your chance. Starting September 1 and running through November 30, 2019, the USPS will be offering a 2% discount on postage for business mailers who launch Informed Delivery interactive campaigns with their physical mail pieces to reach and engage customers.
Haven’t heard about USPS Informed Delivery? It’s a FREE tool to increase your marketing impact through multichannel marketing.
What is it?
Informed Delivery is just as it sounds. When postal customers sign up for the free service, they get advance email notification, complete with black-and-white images, of the mail that will be arriving in their mailboxes that day.
How does it work?
When the USPS processes the mail, it takes an image of the front of each mail piece. When people sign up for Informed Delivery, the USPS uses those same images to create an “email digest” of the mail that will be delivered that day. Once signed up, postal customers can access daily advance notification of their mail delivery at work, at home, or anywhere they get email—and marketers get a multichannel touch without doing anything extra.
To sweeten the pot, you can enhance this exposure by adding your own color images and a hyperlink to your campaign landing page. This is also offered as a free service by the USPS, allowing you to track the results of your campaign and offer “extras,” such as coupon codes. Plus, with the live hyperlinks, people can respond to your direct mail promotion immediately, even before their mail actually arrives in their mailbox.
