From a three employee stationary printer (known as the Flint Rotary Press back then) to an innovative marketing print and integrated digital solutions company, PrintComm has evolved our business by embracing technology and understanding customer demands over the past 50 years.

And we don’t plan on stopping our momentum anytime soon.

Our Milestones

Flint Rotary Press was founded in 1958, serving the local business community as a full-service printer of letterheads, envelopes and newsletters. The original 1,800-square-foot shop was located on Pengelly near Atherton and Saginaw roads on the south side of Flint, Michigan. Jerry Minarik, who started his career in printing as a maintenance worker at the original site, eventually became a partner in the company and then owner.
In 1974, the company moved to a much larger, 6,500-square-foot facility at 2929 Davison Road in Flint.
Flint Rotary Press became PrintComm in 1990 when its scope of services and customers outgrew its original name. In addition to commercial print services, design, and mailing, the company began offering association publishing services. PrintComm continues to publish multiple print and digital magazines for state home building associations.
In August, 2012, long-term employee, Kevin Naughton, purchased the company and became President. Also In 2012, a marketing services division, Marketing Impact, was launched. This new division was created to reflect an increasing emphasis on integration of print and direct mail with coordinated digital, multi-channel and data driven marketing tactics.
On November 25, 2014, PrintComm acquired Cookbook Publishers of Lenexa, Kansas. Cookbook Publishers is the oldest fundraising cookbook company in the United States. The company helps schools, churches, civic groups, individuals, families and businesses publish cookbooks for fundraising purposes and as keepsakes.
56 years and many expansions later, PrintComm’s office/warehouse facility encompasses 40,100 square feet of space. The company employs 40+ full-time team members and more than 80 seasonal and temporary workers. Today, the firm serves its customers around the U.S. and Canada with top-quality printing, mailing, marketing and publishing services.

We offer innovative approaches to marketing and print, including Variable Data Print (VDP), QR codes, microsites and mobile web design to enhance response rates, increase sales and deliver bottom line impact. Kevin Naughton


Kevin Naughton took sole ownership of PrintComm in 2012. He has worked in the printing industry for 36 years and has been an employee of the company for almost 30 of those years. During that time, Naughton has held many positions at PrintComm in areas ranging from customer service to design. He experienced his greatest success in his role as director of sales and marketing, where he managed not only those two departments, but also the day-to-day management of the company itself.

“We have talked about how it would be cool to be part of something that made a difference. I hope the company can help customers achieve their goals, become a means to fund causes, create jobs in the Flint area, and provide rewarding opportunities to talented people. These are things we can feel good about. It has to be about more than just making money.”

Naughton is a graduate of Ferris State University and Fenton High School. He resides in Clarkston with his wife Lisa and their three children.

As the Division Manager for Cookbook Publishers, Stephanie oversees sales, marketing, customer service, and helps organizations, businesses and individuals through the production process of creating their very own custom cookbooks. By understanding what you want to accomplish with a potential cookbook project, she helps you develop a foolproof plan to achieve or exceed your goal(s).

Stephanie has helped organizations such as Ronald McDonald House Charities, Relay for Life, American Cancer Society and Support for People with Oral and Head and Neck Cancer (SPOHNC) with their fundraising efforts using our cookbooks and proven process.

Brian brings over 30 years of experience in the graphic arts industry to his current role as Operations Manager at PrintComm. He oversees day to day production operations in press, digital, mailing and bindery to make sure your jobs are running smoothly and efficiently.

He graduated from Oakland Community College with a degree in Business Administration. Throughout his career he has held various positions at companies within the graphics community and gained valuable experience with synthetic substrates, U.V. and packaging printing, die cutting and foil stamping. This knowledge allows our team to bring you high level, unique printing solutions that will help your company stand out among the crowd.

Eric has been with PrintComm for more than 20 years, and he brings to the table 25 years of experience. He has a BS in Printing Management from Ferris State University. Responsibilities include overseeing all production from scheduling to warehousing. He is dedicated to making sure your job prints, folds, mails and delivers to you or your customers.

With over 30 years of experience working within the graphic communications industry in different facets, Leslie is the “Go to Girl” at PrintComm. She started her career at an advertising agency which then transitioned into working for a company that executed customer satisfaction assessments for printers all over the country and became affiliated with NAPL (National Association for Printing Leadership). While working with graphic communications consultants at NAPL, she helped to oversee multiple programs and worked closely with multiple consultants. Her background in these various positions led her to eventually bringing her skills and talent to PrintComm in her current role as a Senior Project Coordinator. Leslie uses the expertise she has developed over the past three decades to manage the Click2Mail department of PrintComm, as well as overseeing inventory management, employee satisfaction and training, special projects and more.

With more than 25 years of experience in the commercial offset market, Scott has been with PrintComm for over 22 years. He has extensive experience in color management, color theory, pre-press systems and understanding customers’ needs.

Scott has a BS in Printing Management from Ferris State University. He leads a team of three other highly trained and motivated customer service representatives that are ready and willing to assist internal and external customers alike. Scott has held various positions within PrintComm, including; pre-press manager, scheduler and assistant production manager prior to his current role.

With over 20 years of experience in commercial design and print, Rob offers you the very best in design, variable data printing and personal URLs. He leads a team of highly creative and motivated graphic designers that are ready to help you create and design better results for all your printing project needs.

Robert is a graduate of CCS (College for Creative Studies in Detroit), one of the nation’s leading art and design colleges. His past experience with a small marketing and design agency has helped him develop the skills and talent in creating print, direct mail, corporate identity and marketing pieces from concept to completion.

Jim’s printing experience ranges from letterpress work to the latest in electronic prepress. He was mucking around online before “the internet” came to be and was working with computers before PageMaker 1.0 made it’s appearance back in 1985. His various jobs at PrintComm include making all the computers play nice together, purls, variable data templating, mailing and digital workflow automation. Jim has had a lot of opportunity to see what works and what doesn’t in a variety of settings. That experience gets put to use on every job Jim handles to help it move smoothly through production at PrintComm.

Jim served on the Adobe Prepress Advisory Board and has bachelor’s degrees in printing management and small business management from Ferris State University.

During 2015, DeAnna Schillag made a career transition to PrintComm. DeAnna has over 20 years of experience in Accounting, primarily at law firms. She decided she was ready to take her experience into an alternative avenue to learn something new and to share her strategies in a different industry. Because of DeAnna’s years of experience, Accounting Degree and minor in Human Resources, we are thrilled to have her on our team.

One of DeAnna’s favorite aspects of Accounting is applying the skills required to find direct results within any scenario and loves being challenged. Outside of work, DeAnna lives with her husband and their furry children—which include 1 dog and 3 cats! They all currently reside in Holly, Michigan.
